The town scene was built specifically for the series in North Beaver Bank, Nova Scotia
Story
Unravel the mystery of a town in the middle of the USA that traps anyone who enters. While the residents try to maintain a sense of normalcy and find a way out, they must also survive the threats of the surrounding forest. The site known as Beaver Bank Villa has a long history and many years ago it contained housing units, a community hall, a fire station, a school, a church, a convenience store, etc. (all demolished by 2004) to support the workers of the nearby military radar base, which operated in the 1950s and 1960s.

All that remained were the paved streets and driveways, and a fake city was built on top of them. When Boyd steps into a distant tree, he finds himself at the bottom of a well. they are definitely very cool
I have enjoyed this show so far and the acting and mysteries etc. However, I’m starting to worry a little that it’s getting too close to “Lost”; vibe. While "Lost" it was also a fantastic show in terms of acting, direction, etc. What annoyed me at the very end was how many secrets were there just for the sake of being mysterious.
This is never mentioned again or explained in any way
As I watched the second season, I still found myself a little annoyed when another weirdo appeared, a mystery was introduced, be it a symbol, an object, a thing, an event… mostly because I can’t stop thinking, “It will is it in any way relevant in the long run? It’s just one of those where there’s a mysterious fog creature or a hatch or a light etc. Because this kind of cryptic writing just annoys me in the end, the writer can reach into their backside and pull out absolutely anything and never come back.” “Okay, next there’s a llama in a red hat whispering the words "paleontological" and "squeegee"!" and that’s it, forgotten one season later, no explanation, it was just to make it weird.
Still, I’ll keep watching, but if one day it ends and it’s just "it was all in his head!" and there’s no attempt to attach any thematic logic to it all, then consider this review at least 2-3 points lower…
